Search Services

Search Services are a set of services that facilitate the search and retrieval of all documents within your SharePoint® Portal Server implementation. The Search Services consist of scheduled crawling of portal documents and content, parsing of metadata within crawled documents, and actually performing user searches for documents and content within your Web portal.
